Winds of Change

Shadow nodded, the cougar set his large head on the ground. "I wish to join you." He spoke softly.

Stonekit jumped on top of Shadow and curled up.

Bluefur watched her kit carefully.

Whitestar listened.

Shadow smiled at the kit, he turned to Whitestar. "I wish to take on one of your ranks, defand your group, and die fighting for everyone's well being."

Leafpelt listened in astonishment.

"I will sleep outside of the dens, protecting the camp, I understand if you refuse me," Shadow went on. "But the humans are a growing threat to me, this area is the only peaceful place I'v seen."

Leafpelt nodded in understanding. The twolegs were becoming a great problem, and solving these problems wasnt easy unless a cat like Shadow wanted to get put down, or worse, have another cougar like him be put down in mistaking it for him. The battle of life and death between twolegs was always terrible.

Shadow was careful not to move so he wouldn't knock Stonekit down, he picked up his head. "Theres something I wish to show you once the youngster's are asleep." He said to Whitestar and to anyone else who were listening.

Leafpelt nodded slowly, and ran into the nursery where Honeypalm was.

Spiderweb walked to Shadow. "What is it?" He whispered in the cougar's ear.
Shadow sighed. "You'll see soon."

Soon after Leafpelt entered the nursery, Honeypalm had two kits suckling at her belly. One was a brilliant golden with black patches on her back. The second one, slightly bigger, was white with black patches and stripes.

Spiderweb looked at Honeypalm,his eyes widened. "Kits!"

Stonekit looked at the kits.

Anger suddenly flared up inside of Bluefur.

Spiderweb carefuly approched the kits. 'Are they mine?' He thought.
Shadow looked at Whitestar, his calm amber eyes locked on her.

Honeypalm gently licked Poppykit (Golden) and Badgerkit (Black and white). "Welcome your daughter and son into the world, Spiderweb." She purred.

Spiderweb purred, he walked to Honeypalm and layed by her side.

Bluefur let out a growl and picked up Stonekit "Come on, leave Shadow alone" she purred and set her in the nursery.

Whitestar nodded "Very well." she said to Shadow.

Flowerspirit sighed and walked off.

Shadow dipped his head. "Thank you."
Spiderweb looked at Bluefur. "Are you ok? Why are you so angry?"

"None of your business Spiderweb." Bluefur stated.

Spiderweb flicked his tail, he shrugged then turned back to the two kits.
Shadow went to the front of camp and sat down, watching everything.
One of Shasta's friends sniffed around.
Shadow spotted the kittypet. 'Sure doesn't smell wild, must be an intruder then.' He thought then pinned the cat down. "Where do you come from? Your in Iceclan territory." The cougar growled.
The cat screamed in pure fear. "C-Cougar!"
Shadow rolled his eyes.

"Do what you like with him." Whitestar meowed.

Shadow lifted his paw. "Get out of here and stay clear from this area." He growled.
The cat got up and ran full speed back to his home.

"That was slightly entertaining" Whitestar smiled.

Shadow nodded. "I have to agree with you." He smiled then layed down.

Honeypalm licked Poppykit, who was wreathing on the ground with loud mewls of protest as she did so.

Spiderweb smiled, he turned to his son, Badgerkit and licked him.
